A router table is a versatile tool that allows you to perform a wide range of woodworking operations, such as: edge profiling, groove cutting, mortising, pattern routing, joinery, and slot cutting, with an increased precision control and safety.
But it's also one of the more dangerous machines in the workshop, The bit rotate are a very high speed, is exposed, and can grab the work-piece and pull the hand holding it into the moving bit if not operated properly. That's why treating it with the respect and care it requires is essential for a smooth operation.
Therefore, it is mandatory to complete a Router Table course at Bitraf before operating the machine. The course will be in English.

This course is for paying Bitraf members only. If you are not a paying member, sign up for membership at https://bitraf.no/# before the course.
If you want to make precise cuts in thin materials, a laser cutter may just be what you need.
Bitraf has 2 laser cutters capable of cutting lines and engraving patterns in wood, plastic, fabric, leather and more. It's entirely possible to do dangerous and harmful things with the cutter. Therefore it is mandatory to complete a laser-course at Bitraf before using the machinery. During this course we will look at the whole process from a simple and quick design project to a finished object. To create cutting files you can use programs such as Illustrator, Inkscape, Fusion 360 or Rhino. Both Inkscape and Fusion can be installed for free; https://inkscape.org/en, https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview. For Fusion, sign up for «Start-Up or Educational licensing». During this course we will use Bitraf's PC so bringing your own laptop is optional.
