Lasercutter: basic use and safety (English course)

Details

If you want to make precise cuts in thin materials, a laser cutter may just be what you need.

Bitraf has a laser cutter capable of cutting lines and engraving patterns in wood, plastics, fabric, leather and more. It is however possible to do dangerous or harmfull things with the cutter. Therefore it is mandatory to complete a laser-course at Bitraf before using the machine. During this course we will look at the whole process from design to a finished object. This course will be held in English.

This course is for paying Bitraf members only.

It is an advantage if everyone has their own laptop with Illustrator, Inkscape or Fusion 360 installed. Both Inkscape and Fusion can be installed for free; https://inkscape.org/en, https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview. For Fusion, sign up for «Start-Up or Educational licensing». We do have a couple of PCs for those who can’t bring a laptop. Norwegian documentation for the laser can be found at https://bitraf.no/wiki/Laser
