The Grounded Goddess: An Extended Weekend Retreat for Women of Color

Details
We're back with our annual Goddess Retreat!
Join Black & Brown Women's Alliance and Women's Wilderness Trailblazers for The Grounded Goddess, an extended weekend retreat featuring healing mineral waters, yoga, meditation, sound healing, and more on September 25-28 at Joyful Journey Hot Springs in the pristine Sangre de Cristo mountains of Moffat, Colorado.
We're proud to announce this is our fourth year hosting this transformative healing retreat, and we have you to thank for that!
This year’s retreat turns our hearts toward Grounding – cultivating our power to stay steady, whole, and present in the midst of a chaotic world, honoring it as a central part of who we are. As women of color, this opportunity to connect and get grounded in the safe space of like-minded practitioners means we get to let go, reset, and restore ourselves – together.
We don't have to be swept away by the storms of life, because as women of color, we’re no strangers to challenges. Our ancestors endured, and so do we—and now let’s elevate our power of peace, joy, and clarity to help make our grounding possible.
When we're grounded, we begin by remembering that being centered and present to each other and to our lives is who we are at heart. Everything that stands in the way of that connection, we release. We befriend ourselves, and we soften by calling in our vast array of seen and unseen support. At this year’s Grounded Goddess retreat, let’s root in order to rise stronger – together.
THE VENUE
Just 3 hours south of Denver, Joyful Journey provides a sanctuary for the soul where you can relax and rejuvenate at the simplicity of your own pace. Rest, breathe, and connect at your leisure with like minded sisters on the healing path. Put down your everyday demands, and embrace the natural healing around us as we ground: wide-open skies, healthy foods, and mineral pools heated deep beneath the earth’s surface.
Through gentle guided practices and the loving community of sisters, we will explore:
- Grounding rituals and breathwork to steady your body, mind, and spirit
- Connection with nature—including healing hot springs and earth-based practices
- Rest and restoration through collective care, reflection, and nourishment
- A powerful sisterhood and sense of belonging you can carry with you
- Practical tools to stay centered when life feels chaotic
- Time and space to simply be—quiet the noise, soften the edges, and come home to yourself
