About us
We are happy to have changed our name to "Black Love and Friends Dayton", while still being a “Grown Sexy Wise and Mature” group! 😍
WELCOME to an exciting group of African-Americans and Special Friends of any culture or nationality. The average age range is 40 to 60+. Younger people comfortable with this age group may join as well. The purpose of Black Love and Friends Dayton is to provide a bevy of activities and events where people can congregate, mingle and make new friends in an easy social networking way.
We love, honor and respect our Men and Women. Members are encouraged to offer ideas of activities and events that they would enjoy participating in. These ideas can easily become reality where others can join in too.
The door is open for members to become Event Hosts. We can collaborate together to post event(s) you’re interested in, and, as the Event Host, you communicate with the members and greet them as they come together. There may be other responsibilities yet all can be done with minimal effort.
PHOTOS: Our events may be photographed. As a member, you grant BLACK LOVE AND FRIENDS (all locations) the right to use your name and image as recorded and/or photographed; to promote BLACK LOVE AND FRIENDS and release the groups from all liability associated with the use of your name, image and statements.
Come join us! Get from behind the computer, come out and have a social life! And know our abiding theme, “It’s all about L-O-V-E...”

This winter read that is sure to keep you warm and cozy yet alert as we explore Viola Davis's Grammy-winning memoir, Finding Me. It is a raw and honest account of her journey from profound childhood poverty and trauma in Rhode Island to becoming a celebrated, award-winning actress. An account of resilience, self-discovery, and the power of embracing one's own identity in a world that often failed to see her will empower you.
This inspiring story of how Davis transformed adversity into strength, becoming the only Black actor to achieve the "triple crown" of acting (Oscar, Emmy, and Tony awards) while staying true to her authentic self. The audiobook, narrated by Davis, won a Grammy Award for Best Audiobook, Narration & Storytelling Recording in 2023.
The story begins with her account of her childhood growing up in Central Falls, Rhode Island, where her family faced hunger, domestic violence, and a lack of basic necessities. She also endured racial bullying and discrimination.
So come with me and our new Black Love Member, Ms. Clara who will be your lovely host, while we discuss how we too, can learn how the past does not have to define us or deter us from our goals and dreams.
