Black Nonbelievers of Columbus, OH (BN CBUS) is affiliated with Black Nonbelievers (BN), a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing an informative, caring, festive and friendly community. We connect with other Blacks (and allies) who are living free of religion and irrational beliefs who might otherwise be shunned by family and friends. Instead of accepting dogma, we determine truth and morality through reason and evidence. See http://www.blacknonbelievers.org.
Mission Statement
The mission of Black Nonbelievers is to…
• Provide secular fellowship.
• Nurture and support nonbelievers in coming out.
• Promote atheist pride.
• Organize nonbelievers for charitable causes.
Meetings
BN members meet to discuss topics relevant to secular living as well as to socialize.
BN welcomes all regardless of sex, sexuality, gender identity, age, national origin, or race.
BN CBUS is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason - see http://columbuscor.org/.

Please join us for an open and honest conversation about what it means to deconstruct from religion while Black, among one of the most religious demographics in the world. Whether you're just beginning your journey or have long since stepped away from organized faith, this is a safe space to share experiences, ask questions, and build community with others who understand the unique challenges of leaving religion while navigating cultural and familial expectations.
This event is hosted by BN's ChiTown affiliate, and will be on location at the Hegewisch Public Library Branch in Chicago, IL, and on Zoom. Free to attend, but please register in advance. Starts at 1:30 pm CST, 2:30 pm EST.
