Community Service at Face To Face with Black Philadelphia!

Details
We are participating in a community service project at Face To Face Germantown. Come prepare and serve a meal to city residents with Black Philadelphia!
Looking for an opportunity to give back? What better way than to serve a meal to some of Philadelphia's citizens experiencing extreme poverty and food insecurity? This service event is for individuals 12 years and older, though it's probably ideal for older teens and adults. Meal service engages volunteers to prepare food from start to finish, prep to service.
SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS AND WE WANT TO FILL EVERY ONE, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING.
Please note the time commitment is 9:30am to 1:00pm. We will be helping to prepare lunch from start to finish and we're on our feet the whole time. We're using farm-fresh, organic ingredients and working with a great chef and a patient volunteer coordinator. You will get to eat some of the lunch we prepare and let me tell you, that food is gooidt! lol
Face to Face
"Hospitality, Mutuality, and Transformation – speak to our belief that individuals experiencing poverty should be treated with respect. We are all equals here, with the same needs and desires – only our circumstances differ. We welcome everyone who enters our doors as our guests, helping them fight off the root causes of poverty.
Face to Face’s began on May 13, 1984, after the members of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church began cooking hot meals for their Germantown neighbors who were food insecure. Over the years, as the hardships became more apparent, we have responded to those needs organically, and today we offer a One Stop Shop of free services: meals, a legal center, a health center, social services center, a washateria, art studio, and computer lab."
SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING. It does us no good to have 20 people RSVP and only 2 show up to serve. Please change your RSVP or text me if you must cancel.
Dress code
Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed), pants and socks, and a comfortable shirt. Aprons and plastic gloves will be provided.
Parking
Their FREE PARKING LOT is on the side of the building. You can also park on the street.
AGAIN, SERIOUS COMMITMENTS ONLY! WE ONLY HAVE 10 SLOTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED TO ATTENDING.
