Autumnal Equinox Shamanic Sound Journey

The return of Autumn means that darkness is returning to become the prime mover in our physical world and our collective consciousness here in the Northern Hemisphere. The autumnal equinox is that symbolic day in our year when Darkness steps up to join Light as equal partners. The arrival of Autumn can be difficult for us at times. We realize that the joyous long days of summer are ending and we will need to let go of many things – plants we nurtured all year long, outdoor projects that we’ve begun, the carefree days of being outdoors – and we realize that
another beautiful cycle of our lives is beginning to wind down. However, it is also a time of enjoying the fruits of our labors and honoring all that has come before. Harvest time is upon us, let us enjoy the feelings of gratitude and bliss!

Please join us for this magic carpet ride of sound where we ceremonially bid farewell to Summer and honor the South direction of the medicine wheel. We will welcome in Autumn and ceremonially bring in the West direction of the medicine wheel which brings with it the lessons of the harvest, of letting go of that which no longer serves us and for the honoring of all that has come before us. Let us be grateful for everything that has come our way and be open to a new beginning of that inner journey that the return of Darkness represents – after all, it IS our deepest reservoir of power.

Please join us at the beautiful Starhouse All Seasons Chalice just outside of Boulder, CO where Colorado musician and sound healer Jim Lanpheer will lead a 90-minute shamanic sound journey with these themes in mind using three Paiste planetary gongs, flutes, Tibetan bowls and other assorted sonic surprises. Please plan to arrive as early as 6:30 p.m. in order to find a space on the floor and make yourself comfortable. To fully enjoy yourself, please bring a mat to lie on, and pillows, blankets, etc. to be fully comfortable during our sound journey. Also, please bring any ritual objects that you would like to place on the gong altar during the event.

Jim Lanpheer is a musician, sound healer and shamanic healing practitioner based in Denver, Colorado. He has been a musician for most of his adult life, involved in jazz, blues, rock and world music. More recently, he has studied with and learned energetic healing practices from a variety of indigenous shamanic healers in the Shipibo, Q'ero, Huichol and Native American traditions. Jim combines these two interests together to create intentional sound healing ceremonies that can bring about powerful changes in one's life and BLISS!
