Sprint Workshop: Building on a Blockchain TestNet with NEAR

This event is geared towards experienced developers who either want to try building on their first TestNet or are curious to try a new alternative to the blockchains they have already built on top of.

In the event, we'll briefly introduce the components of a TestNet and some of the conceptual hurdles for doing so before diving into the example application you'll build on NEAR. We'll have plenty of technical support available to answer questions and make sure you're on the right track.

At the end, we'll review the results together and discuss what you've learned.

Why NEAR? The platform offers material upgrades in both performance and usability over alternatives like Ethereum or EOS. This event is a preview of the NEAR TestNet and represents a look behind the scenes and a chance to talk to the actual developers who created it (they will be on hand).

About the Blockchain Workshop Series

Blockchain Workshops are a chance to get your hands dirty and apply the knowledge that's been covered in our other events or which you bring in from your existing functional expertise. They are generally team-oriented and provide you with both the tools to use and objectives to complete.

As always, these workshops are geared at an audience which may not be entirely familiar with blockchain practices and paradigms but we generally will assume familiarity with a specific functional discipline like development, design or product outside of the blockchain space.

"Sprint" workshops will be tightly scoped sprints designed to be completed in a single evening. Standard workshops may take place over an entire day or weekend.
