- Is there any technique you would recommend for us to shift our focus to ourselves when we are heavily occupied by the external thoughts in our life day to day life?
- I’m always thinking about something or someone that’s challenging my present moment. I want you to understand that we all go through that. I find that all of us collectively are always dealing with something. Sometimes it’s a really traumatic experience, and sometimes it’s a burden of life. The best thing I find that works and something that I’ve suggested to all my clients, and they find it works for them, too, is getting out for a walk. Sometimes it’s just a physical act that removes us from one place and put us into another place. So getting out of the house and putting yourself in the sunshine, and just sit by a bunch of trees; it is so healing.
- I frequently get criticized at work as well as at home, due to my shortcomings at that time I feel very disappointed, how do I bring myself to a state of self-love at that moment?
- I spoke about shifting your focus in the presentation. I don’t want anybody to walk away from this presentation and suddenly put pressure on themselves to do it at the moment that they’re feeling challenged or triggered. In the moment it’s important for you to acknowledge how you’re feeling. If you’re not feeling great about yourself, and you’re feeling disappointed, acknowledge that and then be able to say to yourself “okay, how can I do things differently”? People challenge themselves too much to do it all in that one moment. Take 5 minutes, if you can, then remove yourself from that situation. Give yourself 5 minutes to acknowledge the disappointment and go do things that will help bring your positivity back.
