Top Q&A Questions and Resources:

  • Can you update us on the progress toward providing Canadian organizers with the same feature set as U.S. organizers?
    • Rajib: We are looking at expanding those different features. One of the providers that we’re working with is Stripe and in Q2 we’ve engaged in some activities to see how we can expand some of our offerings into those places. Whether it’s; more payment systems, ticketing, event dues, or Pledge, we’re looking at how we can expand those features globally, not just in the U.S.
  • Does a keyword search for “hiking” also find results for variations like “hike” and “hikes”?
    • Eujin: Yes, the words and phrases are parsed so the simplest forms of the word get the most relevant searches. There is some form of tokenization that happens, so it can search all 3 variations.
  • Is Event/Group Search responsive to searches using different languages?
    • Kristen: Yes. We show most of our examples in English because that’s where the majority of our event supply is, but yes, it is responsive to different languages.
  • Event announcements go out only to members active in the past 3 months. How does that help organizers to hold events? Who would come if they don’t get notifications?
    • Brian: We take a lot of different factors into consideration to decide to send an event announcement. We define “active” in a lot of different ways, if they go onto the platform and RSVP to an event they’re active, but also if they open an email. So if they haven’t been opening emails from us or going on the site for multiple months at a time, then we look at different strategies to reengage them.
