Top Q&A/ Resources:

  • Where can you purchase aquafaba?
    • So, if you buy a can of chickpeas that liquid that people usually discard can actually be used for baking. You drain the liquid into a jar and keep it for baking. Make sure the chickpeas are unsalted if it is salted it does not taste good. You also don’t have to use it right away to you can actually just store it in a container and it’ll like last in the fridge for like a week.
  • What vegan butter is best for baking?
    • I’ve tried a few I honestly think that they all work quite similarly it really is just on your preference so I personally love Miyoko’s and Earth Balance is great if you want something that’s nut-free, Flora is also great but it is not as widely available so I mostly reccommend Miyoko’s or Earth Balance.
  • Different brands of applesauce have differing liquid content.  How do we manage that?
    • Yeah, so I found that it’s hard because I know from what my readers have told me that applesauce it’s not as widely available in Europe. So a lot of them try to make their own, and that is where you run into the issue of a little bit too much liquid content. A lot of brands applesauce, I find here are pretty similar so the real issue I think runs into if you’re making it yourself and you really have to make sure that you’re straining the applesauce so that it is more thick.
