Bloomington, Indiana: Make New Friends. “Ring A Bell”

Hoping this group creates and defines itself as time goes by.

GOAL OF THIS GROUP: My Mother always said, “If you want to have a friend, you have to be a friend.” The goal of this group is to create and maintain friends.

Sometimes you’d like to meet new friends and make new friends, if that sounds good to you, please consider joining this group to see what you think, and see where this goes.

Hoping to create a community of friends, the name “Friends, Ring A Bell” seemed like a hopeful and uplifting name for a group, but that name can evolve... also the "ring a bell" serves as a "call to action"... perhaps encouraging you to take action, if you feel this fits. I learned an expression: "half of life is simply showing up".

This is the first time I have ever shared this idea or concept, it’s the first time I’ve ever described this and it’s the first time I’ve ever tried to create a friends group. I’m hoping the members of this group define and grow our concept and our group.

What will we do at our events?: Communicate, share, listen, support, help each other, etc.

To add a little more information: MeetUp offers many descriptive words to select to define a new group: I selected these four: Make New Friends, Conversation, Listening, Humanism. These other MeetUp descriptions sounded very applicable as well: Support, Communication, Positive Thinking, Confidence and Self Esteem, Aging, Mental Health Support, Nature, Mindfulness, Health, Knowledge, Sharing.
