Boonesboro to Proud Mary’s

The Ky River is at its best right now the surface is smooth as glass and at no noticeable flow.

Let’s drop boats at the Fort Boonesboro State Park boat ramp. We will need to shuttle cars to Proud Mary’s about 10 miles away.

We will paddle to the right to see the base of the dam and the remnants of the old park beach. Continuing down river we will pass the mining shafts that send cool air and a mist of fog across the river. On route we will pass a couple creeks we can explore a little in. Possibly stop on a rock bar, see some beautiful palisades and look for an Eagle we’ve seen in the area.

Paddle ends at Proud Mary’s. 6-7 miles of flat water paddling. Enjoy lunch at Proud Mary’s when we finish.
