Overcoming Challenges Facing Communities Advocating for Palestinian Human Rights

Dr. Zainab Chaudry

Description: Amidst the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Maryland communities have faced mounting challenges in their advocacy for Palestinian human rights, including hate crimes, bias attacks, censorship, discrimination, and bullying. Dr. Chaudry will speak to these trends and how CAIR is supporting those speaking up against injustices.

Bio: Dr. Zainab Chaudry is the Maryland Outreach Director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), America’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization. She is the first known Muslim to be appointed to the Maryland State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights – an independent, bipartisan agency established by Congress in 1957 that is charged with advising the President and Congress on civil rights matters.
