A discussion of how the Trump administration has fundamentally altered immigration enforcement in 2025 and what this means for immigrant communities in the capital region. We will also discuss current events around the country and what we expect in 2026.
Michael Lukens has been part of the immigrants’ rights and legal access movement for over a decade. In his role as Executive Director, Michael oversees Amica Center’s legal and operational programs, including advocacy, litigation, and client-facing services, and the volunteer and pro bono programs. Prior to joining Amica Center, Michael was a senior associate at Paul Hastings’s DC office. He earned a Master’s in Public Management from the University of Maryland with a focus on nonprofit management and a law degree from Hofstra Law School.
