Visit to the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens
Join us at the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens in Druid Hill Park for a relaxing start to the new calendar year. This is the last day to see their annual poinsettia and holiday gardens.
We’ll meet at the conservatory at 10:30. There is no charge but donations are gladly accepted and there is a gift shop. Poinsettias are also being sold at this time. If you have questions or need a ride, contact Emil Volcheck, Paul Furth, or Carolyn Dryden. There will not be a formal Zoom Platform this morning.
Afterwards, we'll decide on a place to gather for lunch.

A Candy Garden
HOLIDAY DISPLAY
December 6th - January 4th
Wed. – Sun. 10am-4pm
Closing at 2pm on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24)
Closed on Christmas Day (Dec.25)
Join us for a sweet celebration of color, whimsy, and nostalgia during our Winter Display – A Candy Garden. Once again, we’re partnering with the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers to bring you a detailed miniature world filled with trains, towns, and playful surprises.
As we prepare for major renovations to the historic Palm House in spring 2026, our poinsettia palette is intentionally scaled back this year. The display will feature hand-made candy-inspired décor and lush tropical plants grown by the talented greenhouse team at Cylburn Arboretum. Visitors can enjoy a cozy, curated collection highlighting petite cultivars such as Princettia Sparkling Rose and Candy Wintergreen.
The show and sale will also feature some exciting new cultivars. Because the poinsettia selection is more limited this year, we encourage early visits for the widest choice of varieties.
PLEASE NOTE: We are committed to keeping our pathways clear for all visitors during our busiest season. This means: please do not bring tripods, monopods, or strollers to the Conservatory on weekends, for the duration of the holiday display.
Reserving tickets ahead of time is not required, but it is a great way to make your donation ahead of time and keep things moving at the front desk.
Directions
The Conservatory is located off I-83, exit 7, near the Maryland Zoo. We are in Druid Hill Park, near the intersection of McCulloh Street and Gwynns Falls Parkway.
