Details
The Chesapeake Style Bay
Tom Horton
Environmental Journalist & Author
This platform will be delivered in hybrid format, which means you can attend the platform via Zoom or in person at the Impact Hub Baltimore. Masks are optional.
I will discuss the failure to achieve Chesapeake cleanup goals in an effort that has now occupied the better part of half a century, and suggest how we might proceed from here. I will speak of some real successes, and the lessons we can draw from those.
Bio:
Tom Horton: I'm a longtime environmental journalist and author, a native of Maryland's Eastern Shore. I've worked for the Baltimore Sun, Rolling Stone, National Geographic and others, exploring issues from coral reefs and the Amazon, to oil spills and famines in Africa. My greatest interest for more than half a century now, has been my native Chesapeake Bay. I'm the author of several books, including Bay Country and Island Out of Time, a memoir of living for three years on Smith Island.
I currently live in Salisbury, MD, and write the monthly Chesapeake Born column for the Bay Journal.
