London Loop
Details
Part 6 & 7 of the London Loop! Don't worry if you haven't down the first five you can pick up and finish at any point.
If you have never heard of the Loop it's an outer walking ring of London. It's a fascinating way of discovering parts of London you have never been to before.
It's mostly free. Your only outlay will be getting to and from the start point each time and perhaps a packed lunch unless you are fasting!
This is done in 24 bits and goes through Royal parks, waterways and marshland to more built up areas. By the end of it you will know the geography of London so well.
We work as a team (I am not your tour guide although Paul is pretty brilliant at spotting the Loop signs and finding our way.
This part of the journey goes from Coulsdon South to Banstead then onto Ewell approx 9 miles.
We shall stop for our packed lunch and a rest and there is a cafe on route for a hot drink . Bring plenty of water and snacks if that is your thing too.
We go through the Mayfield Lavender farm and Oaks park and Banstead downs. Then on to Nonsuch park a deer park established by Henry VIII we finish in Ewell a town mentioned in the doomsday book with a 19th century castle.
Perfect for getting off those mince pies you ate at Christmas.
Meeting point: Coulsdon South at 11am Southern's train line from Victoria
Finishing point: Ewell East back to Victoria- Bus 293 (Epsom to Morden via Cheam)
They say the average person needs to meet another person for 9 times before they call them a friend and this will definitely do that.
You will make friends and at the end of it there is a website where you print out a certificate to say you have done the London Loop!
