Build Your Online Art Portfolio

In this 4-wk course, you'll create your online portfolio and share your art with the world. Age 11+

Beginner-Intermediate
4-week course: Saturdays, Sept 19 - Oct 17, 1:30pm - 3:30pm. $200.

In this course, students will be building their online portfolio from start to launch! Your online portfolio is your ever-evolving business card, your traveling case filled with everything you've ever created. It's your artistic identity when you can't talk directly with your audience. Having a portfolio online opens your artwork to exposure all over the world! It makes submitting your artwork to galleries or shows simple and is the professional touch needed if you're looking to expand your art career.

WEEK 1 (9/19): Setting Things Up
Install/Setup WordPress: WordPress Install & Setup, Installing needed plugins, Installing a Theme, Creating Pages/Placeholders (You will create 3 standard pages/sections plus a gallery page - Home - About - Gallery - Contact)

WEEK 2 (9/26): Get Images Ready
Photograph or Scan & Upload Artwork: We’re not making PRINT READY scans here, just web ready. We'll have a small flatbed scanner, a digital high power camera and most phones have powerful enough cameras as well.

Layout & Design: We’ll spend some time working on the presentation of images in the portfolio.

Add Content: If you have not added your saved content to their pages, we’ll drop that in now.

WEEK 3 (10/3): Make It Yours
Customize Theme and Design: We’ll go through the website and adjust the theme colors, fonts, layout and design to match YOUR ARTIST BRAND. You are creating your online persona now!

Spread The Word: If you have social media, now is the time to start spreading the word about your new online portfolio before the big launch! If you are not on social media but have been thinking about it, we can use this time to get you started.

WEEK 4 (10/17): Final Proof & Launch
Final Content & Fixes: Add in or fix any content/images from last week, We will review each other’s sites!
