Hawkins Reserve Evening Hike

A quick note:
This is my first hosted meetup event for the group, so I’m intentionally starting with a straightforward local hike and smaller group size to help build a solid community and good group culture from the beginning.

Join us for a moderate-paced evening hike at Hawkins Reserve. This will be a steady-moving group intended for active adults who enjoy getting outside, meeting good people, and maintaining a moderate-to-brisk hiking pace.

Hike Details:
• Distance: 5.8 miles
• Elevation Gain: approximately 452’
• Expected Pace: roughly 2.5-3 mph
• Terrain: uneven natural trail surfaces
• Group Size: limited to around 10 people

This is not a slow social stroll pace. We’ll keep moving steadily with limited regrouping during the hike, though we’ll pause briefly at major trail junctions if needed.

Please bring:
• Hydration/water
• Sunscreen if conditions are sunny
• Appropriate footwear
• Anything else you personally need for exposed trail conditions

Important:
This trail is fully exposed with very limited or no shade. Temperatures may feel significantly warmer depending on weather conditions.

As with most outdoor areas in Idaho, wildlife and environmental hazards are possible, including snakes, insects, uneven terrain, loose rock, and changing weather conditions. Please use good judgment and remain aware of your surroundings.

Dogs are welcome if trail regulations allow.

Disclosure:
This is a community-organized activity and not a professional guiding service. I am not a certified tour guide or outdoor instructor — just someone who enjoys outdoor activities and wants to build a solid outdoor community.

All participants are responsible for assessing their own fitness, preparedness, equipment, safety, and personal limits. By attending, you acknowledge that outdoor recreation involves inherent risks and that you participate voluntarily and at your own discretion.

Please arrive on time and ready to hike.

Appreciate everyone who joins and helps make the experience positive, active, and welcoming.
