Kepros Mtn | Hike | Grand Slam | 9.5 Miles |Moderate to Fast Pace
Details
This is a challenging hike with significant elevation gain and a moderate-to-fast pace. If you are unsure whether you can maintain the advertised pace, please consider a different event.
Kepros Peak is one of the Boise area’s Grand Slam peaks, and this route is a solid mountain workout.
Hike Details:
• Meet at the trailhead: 8:00 AM
• Distance: approximately 9.5 miles
• Elevation Gain: approximately 2,300 feet
• Pace: Moderate to Fast
• Difficulty: Challenging
• Breaks: Limited and short
We’ll be completing this hike in 4 hours or less, so the pace for this event will be on the faster end. Please only sign up if you are comfortable maintaining a steady pace over the full distance and elevation gain.
We will start the hike together and make every effort to stay together, but the group may naturally separate based on individual fitness and pace. Participants need to be comfortable continuing independently if the group separates.
Transportation & Personal Preparedness:
Everyone is responsible for their own:
• Transportation
• Food/snacks
• Water/hydration
• Appropriate clothing and footwear
• Personal gear and preparedness
• Knowing and respecting their own physical limits
Carpooling is encouraged, but please coordinate transportation directly with other participants rather than relying on the group host.
Please bring enough water and nutrition for the full hike. Mountain conditions can change, so come prepared for the weather and terrain we may encounter. This is a fully exposed trail with no shade. It can also get windy.
Disclosure:
This is a community-organized activity and not a professional guiding service. I am not a certified guide or outdoor instructor—I’m simply someone who enjoys outdoor activities and wants to create opportunities for active people to get outside together.
All participants are responsible for assessing their own fitness, experience, equipment, preparedness, transportation, pacing decisions, and personal safety. By attending, you acknowledge that hiking and outdoor recreation involve inherent risks and that participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.
Trail conditions, weather, wildlife, insects, loose terrain, steep sections, and other natural hazards may be present. Please use good judgment and know your limits.
This is not a beginner hike and it is not a slow social hike. Please choose this event only if the distance, elevation gain, pace, and limited breaks are appropriate for your current abilities.
Looking forward to another Grand Slam adventure!
