What's the Boise Weekly Language Exchange all about?

Learning another language and looking to get some speaking practice in?

Are you a native speaker of a non-English language interested in chatting with learners?

Or are you perhaps a native English speaker who wants to meet people from around the world and help others practice?

Then come join us!

How does it work, and what languages are represented?

We'll spend the first 5 minutes or so settling in before dividing into tables based on the language(s) you speak and/or want to practice. No worries if you can't arrive right at 6:30 PM – just come when you can and join whichever table you like!

You can always expect to find conversation tables for Spanish, French, German, and English.

But we've also been growing... which means that, on any given week, you might find tables for languages like Mandarin, Arabic, Hebrew, Portuguese, Italian, ASL, Italian, and more!

What language level do I need to have to attend? Are beginners welcome?

All levels are welcome - from beginner to native speaker!

Though a quick heads up: though many beginners join us every single week, this is primarily a casual conversation group without any formal instruction or structured learning.

This means you'll get the most from the event if you have some basic knowledge of the language... or are at least open to listening, observing, and jumping in as you feel comfortable :-)

Where are we meeting, and what's the parking situation?

We'll be meeting in the main lobby area of JUMP Boise. You'll find the address in the event's location section... but since we'll be right in the lobby, you really can't miss us!

There is free and paid parking in the area, though I recommend giving yourself a bit of extra time to find it depending on how busy the downtown area is.
