Bonjour French classes - Dundee

Approximate level: A0/A1

Level 0: Designed for new French learners or those constructing basic sentences, even after using tools like Duolingo for several months and learning French in school.

📆 Calendar: IN-PERSON: From the 23rd of September, you’ll have an hour class every Wednesday at 12:15 pm for 6 weeks until the 28th of October. If you miss a class, you’ll still get the material and some explanations from me, so then no excuse to keep practising your French every week!

Over the 6 weeks, you’ll learn to:

• Introduce yourself
• Use essential verbs
• Ask questions
• Express likes and dislikes
• Make well-structured sentences
• Order food and drinks
• Make reservations

📚 That's the overall idea, but as you know, language learning is fluid and can vary from one student to another. That’s why we keep our classes small, with a maximum of 6 students, to ensure we can adjust to each student’s level and make sure everyone gets plenty of speaking time. The key to learning a language is by speaking it, so our main focus is simple: speak, speak, and speak.

🧑‍🏫 The class will be conducted by Lauriane, a really experienced French teacher.

🗣You'll be learning from a native French Speaker, so you’ll experience how French is truly spoken—not from an app or a textbook.

The class is open to only 6 students to keep the class small and cosy, but mostly so everyone can practice and ask questions.

Every class includes homework and different types of exercises to help you keep a good routine outside of the class. You'll get all the materials in printed and online version, before/after each class, meaning you don't need to buy a book.

Join our wee French corner in Dundee!

At this level, students are moving towards more natural conversations. You probably understand a lot more than you can say, and while you can hold a conversation, you sometimes struggle to find the right word. That’s absolutely fine; this class is here to help with exactly that.
In this group, we speak mostly in French (so you need to be ready for it), but we slow things down when needed and switch to English occasionally to explain trickier concepts. We focus on everyday French (the way people actually talk), and we take time to build your vocabulary, fix common mistakes, and work on your listening and speaking confidence.
