About us

The group for Ukulele enthusiasts who live in and around Chatswood.
As at January 2026 we have been going for 11 years, lots of great meetings, and we have enjoyed performances for community groups in our local area.
The group is led by Steve Lockwood, a musician with over 40 years of experience performing in bands, and running community music groups.
Steve's burning desire is to introduce as many people as possible to the joys of playing music with friends and community. So if you have been plunking away at home, come and experience the thrill of playing in a large group of friendly people.
If you have just started uke you are welcome to come along and soak up the atmosphere created by the more advanced players. We welcome players and singers of all levels.
We meet monthly on the 4th Wednesday, in Chatswood, at the Dougherty Centre from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.

The theme this month is songs made popular by groups that consisted of brothers and sisters.

The idea is you need to have a "brother or sister" to sing with you.
So we should pick our songs, and then collaborate with another member of the group.

It is relatively easy to send messages to group members through Meetup.

If you get stuck, then I am happy to be a brother, and perhaps even a sister (I have a wig!!!), and I know that Pat and Hiromi are able to help.

Perhaps the best way to approach getting a partner is to select a song or two, put them in the discussion here, and call for a brother or sister to help.

As per last month, if you can find the song you have in mind on Jim's Songbook, that would be great. But I do have time to make new ones this month.

Have your songs to me EARLY or risk missing out. If we fill the roster before then, it will be closed.

Each group should be able to do two or three songs. We can have groups with 2, 3 or even four members.
