BYOB: Bring Your Own travel/adventure Book (Themed)
Details
For this themed BYOB, we're focusing specifically on travel, adventure or related genre books.
This is a paid event. To attend this event you need to either
- Become an annual member of this group. Sign up for memberships here (select either GTA Book Club Annual Membership OR GTA Book Club + Walk & Coffee Combo Annual Membership)
- E-transfer (Interac) the event fee ($5) to mojo620@gmail.com
Instead of everyone agreeing to read one book for a meeting, we each read whatever we want (within the event genre), then share it with the rest of the group every alternate meeting. Our discussions are always fresh and interesting! Those who don't have a book to share but want a recommendation for their next read are also welcome to join. Then we vote on the discussed books and the book with highest votes gets discussed further in a subsequent meeting.

For this themed BYOB, we're focusing specifically on travel, adventure or related genre books. Whether you've read about epic mountain expeditions, solo journeys across continents, historical explorations, survival stories, travel memoirs, adventure fiction, or cultural discoveries from around the world - bring your book to share! From tales of wandering through remote villages to thrilling accounts of extreme adventures, maritime voyages to overland treks, we want to hear about the journeys that captured your imagination.
The aim here is to establish a group of independent readers in the GTA who are curious about exploring the world through books. Have you read an interesting travel or adventure book lately? Come and tell us about it! This relaxed and friendly book group is for those who enjoy reading books, asking questions, and having thought-provoking, fun discussions about journeys, exploration, and adventure. Read whatever travel or adventure book you want, then come and spend a few minutes discussing it with us. No formal book reports required, promise :). Paper books, e-books and audio books are all considered books for the purposes of this group.
This event is scheduled for 120 minutes. Of this, 10 minutes is allotted for introductions, poll, and other event management tasks. The remaining 110 minutes will be allotted equally among those who have a book to share. Please remember to leave some of your allotted time for questions and discussions.
