What we’re about

The group welcomes Baby Boomers (born 1946–1964), as well as those slightly older or younger, who want to connect with others in Greater Greenville.

It offers a variety of monthly social activities—such as plays, movies, walks, and dinners—in a friendly, active, and welcoming environment, encouraging new members to join and participate.

Boomers Community Guidelines:
We’re here to build a fun, respectful, and welcoming space for all Boomers. To keep our group vibrant and enjoyable, please keep these guidelines in mind:

1. No Politics, No Divisiveness
We do not post political events or anything that could be offensive or divisive. Our focus is on friendship, fun, and shared experiences.

2. Respect Above All
Abusive or offensive actions and language—whether spoken or written—will not be tolerated. Such behavior may result in removal from the group.

3. Safety & Recognition
For security and connection, all members must have a recent photo and use their actual name (first name is fine) in their profile. This helps us recognize each other at events.

4. Commitment to Group/Events
a) If you are unsure of your attendance 24 hours before the event, please remove yourself from the GOING list. This ensures fairness and allows all members equal opportunity to participate, while avoiding any possible $$ penalties to the host (which will be passed on to the responsible member).

b) Arrive on time so that the event may begin promptly without any disruption.

c) Plan to remain for the entire duration of the event. Your presence contributes to the continuity, energy, and success of the event.

d) If a member is a “no-show” for 3 or more events they signed up for, they may be removed. Please RSVP thoughtfully so we can plan better together.

e) Solicitation of members for any non-Boomer related activity, will not be tolerated at any event.

5. Stay Connected
Members who have not signed onto our website within the past 5 months OR have not attended an event within the past 12 months, will be removed from the membership roster. This action will apply regardless of whether dues have been paid. You’re always welcome to rejoin if your interest in our activities renews!

In order to remain part of the Meetup family, Boomers Connect is required to pay an annual subscription fee to Meetup.com.  In addition, we incur recurring expenses for supplies throughout the year (e.g. magnetic and paper name tags, markers, etc.).

Our 2026 membership due’s structure is as follows:
FOR NEW AND EXISTING MEMBERS: $10 per year when joining from January-June.

Dues can be paid by cash at the first event you attend or by sending a Venmo payment to Fred-Gagliardi-Boomers-Meetup. When using Venmo, and to ensure you receive credit for your payment, please enter your Boomers name, exactly as it appears on Meetup, in the "What's this for" box.  Also, send it as a "Private" transaction (change "Public" to "Private").

For those unable to use Venmo or attend an event in the January, please contact Fred or Luciano directly. We will gladly assist with alternate payment arrangements.

We’d love to see you at an upcoming event—come share laughter, friendship, and fun with us!”
