Born Global Talks with International Founders: Akiko Takahashi

Welcome to our inaugural “Born Global Talks”, featuring international founders who have built their businesses in Germany! These are meant for you to learn from their experiences.

We are thrilled to host our first guest, Akiko Takahashi, Co-founder of Gohan Power, a food startup. Akiko will share her entrepreneurial journey, including how she secured funding for her startup and diverse projects. She will offer valuable insights into building a successful business from the ground up, and navigating cultural and financial landscapes in Germany.

After her presentation, the floor will be open and attendees can engage in follow-up conversations about entrepreneurship, funding, and innovation.

Additionally, the upcoming EXIST Women program will be introduced. This is a program from the SMILE start-up initiative at the University of Leipzig, which aims to empower and support female founders in their entrepreneurial journey.

More about Akiko:
From Tokyo, Japan, Akiko holds a Bachelor degree on Computer science and a Master in Informatics. She has experience of working at an international IT company and startups, and also as an artist and designer. Since she moved to Germany in 2013, she was involved in several startups.She gained experience by having visibility on the show Höhle der Löwen, secured several public fundings for project in Baden-Württemberg and Sachsen.
