Charles River Canoe and Kayak offers kayak rentals for 1.5 hrs for $32
Their Allston location is in a portion of the river that is mostly devoid of current and motorboat traffic, which is ideal for a relaxing, beginner-friendly) paddling session.
We will kayak at a leisurely pace every Monday evening to make the worst day of the week just a little bit better :D
The rental includes the kayak, life vest and paddle, so all you need to bring is yourself.
If you are worried about your belongings getting wet, you can rent a dry bag for an additional $5.Before renting any boat, you need to watch a safety video and agree to a waiver. To save time at check-in, you can complete the waiver online.
Depending on the mood, we can go for dinner or a drink afterwards.
Some notes:
- You will possibly get wet, so plan accordingly. Bringing sandals/slippers and a change of clothes is a good idea.
- Rentals are first come first serve and according to the staff there may be a small wait sometimes.
- Due to the nature of this event, punctuality is critical. Once we are in the water, there is little chance that we can wait for long. If you repeatedly arrive late or fail to show up, you might be kicked out of the group.
- Lastly, remember that we are all adults and you're responsible for your own safety.

- π¦+β°οΈ Ben & Jerry's factory tour, followed by hike!!!Pinnacle Meadows, Stowe Land Trust, Stowe, VT
Let's continue our 20s and 30s hike series with a trip to Stowe, Vermont for a full day of adventure and delicious ice cream.
This is NOT a beginner-friendly hike./*** What will we be doing? ***/
12:00 - Ben & Jerry's tour
14:00 - start hike
16:15 - picnic in the mountain
17:00 - descent
18:30 - victory beer
19:30 - drive backUnlike most other hiking trips, we will start by boosting our sugar levels with a tour of the Ben and Jerry's factory, after which we will start our hike.
This is an 8-km/5-mi hike. Due to the timing of the hike, we will have a snack break in the Pinnacle overlook and a small picnic at the top of Hogback Mountain, before beginning our descent. This should take 4-4.5 hrs.
This is the route that we will be following./*** How to get there? ***/
We'll meet at Pinnacle Meadows Trailhead. Note that parking is very limited, so we should do our best to reduce the number of cars. I created a Group Carpool link.
Drivers, add your cars and planned departure locations. Riders, if you don't see cars available, join the carpool waitlist, so others can see how many people are looking for a ride.
If you want to ride with me, message me BEFORE you add your name in the carpool./** What to bring? **/
At least 3L of water
Hiking boots.
Sunscreen.
A windbreaker. The top might be windy.
Some snacks and a dehydrated meal./** Dos and DON'Ts **/
- DO remember that you are an adult and nobody but yourself is responsible for your safety. Check the route and weather forecast, and make sure that you are ok with the plan.
- DO NOT be a "No Show". If you don't show up or change your RSVP to no after 8 PM the night before the event, you may be waitlisted for the next event. We usually have waitlists for these hikes and we want to make sure that everyone has a good time.
- DO speak up. If you need a break or need to leave early, tell someone else in the group, preferably the organizer or someone with a walkie talkie.
- DO NOT show up if you are in the waitlist or didn't RSVP. This may get you banned from the group. - After-work kayak series: Cambridge Kendall πΆπ (rentals available)15 Broad Canal Way, Cambridge, MA
