Free Women's Self Defense Training (hosted by Boston Dads Group)
The backlash against the #MeToo movement is growing and survivors are reeling from the toxic discussion around the Supreme Court nomination. I feel both grateful that there is an increased visibility around women's safety, sexual harassment, and sexual violence and incredibly sad that this has happened, and continues to happen, to so many of my friends. Two years ago, in the wake of an unprecedented election of a known perpetrator of this kind of violence against women, City Dads Groups around the country supported fodada's International Women's Self-Defense Day campaign. Sadly, the need for this training is as necessary now as it was then. We are asking all dads to help us spread the word to the women in their lives. Tell them to REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME AT The class is on Saturday, November 17 from 1:30-3:30pm in Boston by South Station. The trainers are from IMPACT Boston, which provides self-defense programs to give people the skills to stay calm and focused in unsafe situations. The training is free and open to women and girls over the age of 14. Transgender women and queer women are encouraged to attend. Childcare is NOT provided. The venue is T accessible. *fodada exists to celebrate, promote and support great dads. Their clothing line funds free programs for dads and families. What we're about

Boston Dads Group is a diverse community of fathers in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island areas, who take an active role in our children’s lives. We seek to create an online meetup group to bring fathers together in person. We'll meet several times per week, with our kids, at parks, playgrounds, museums, parent-and-me classes, and living rooms across the greater Boston Metro and Providence, Rhode Island areas. We'll also organize parenting workshops and Dads Nights Out to give our members an opportunity to socialize, learn, and support each other as we navigate parenthood.

There are not enough resources, social groups, or services for dads. This is a destination for all active dads. A diverse group with dads of all stripes: stay-at-home dads, dads with flexible schedules, work from home dads, freelancers, working dads, teachers, and involved fathers in and around the Boston Metro and Providence, RI areas to socialize and interact with other guys who enjoy spending quality time with their children.

** Please note this group is strictly for Dads, we understand sometimes wives will try to join for their significant others but we encourage them to join on their own accord. We want this group to be a comfortable place for Dads to learn and talk about anything dad related.
