Hi!
It's time for Boston to have a fishing group. New England has the best seafood on the East Coast, and there are SO many avid fishermen and fisherwomen (fisherpeople) in the area. We just don't know about each other!
Fishing enthusiasts have many reasons to band together and go in a group.
1. Share resources- if members go together, they can save on equipment, bait, boats, carpooling, lures, and more!
2. Share knowledge- What are "busting fish?" What are "slicks?" What is the correct lure for medium sized saltwater game? When are where can you find small mouthed bass in MA? NH? ME?RI?
3. Share dinner!!! What is better than grilling your freshly filleted catch with friends at the end of a long day of fishing?
Members are welcome/encouraged to become Event Planners by contacting (text or phone is best) the Organizer that currently oversees administrative functions (Peter). You may have your own boat/kayak/canoe or can beg/borrow/rent. Ideally, Event Planners should organize a Meetup at least every other month.
Anyone who is looking to make and meet new friends in and around the area is welcome to join. Activities are not limited and can vary, depending upon the members interests. This is your group and members are strongly encouraged to voice their ideas and opinions.
Please get involved today. You have been granted the power to suggest new events. Check with your friends to see who else may want to join in the fun. Thanks to Aspen for getting this going! Now, its yours to make what YOU want out of it.
To get get a new meetup on the calendar, suggest all you need is a Title/Headline, Place and date&time. When 2 more people rsvp yes it's a meetup. Don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries. Its OK. Just put up what you were going to do anyway and see if someone else can join you.
