Note: Due to the heat wave, we'll be moving the event indoors tonight. We'll be in the auditorium adjacent to the open space, inside the building at 292 Main St. We'll have some signs to direct folks, the entrance is on the same side of the building as the lawn, and has MIT in big raised letters on the side.

C'mon out for LIGHTNING TALKS, a series of ~10 minute talks on a variety of game development related topics given by you, the Boston Indies community! Come share a cool solution to a design problem you found, talk about a development tool you love, or share an inspiring anecdote from your project!

After the talks, we'll adjourn to Flat Top Johnny's for pinball and beers.

Talk lineup!

  • Indie GameDev Business Model for Education by Chris DeLeon
  • AI is uniquely suited to hallucinating dynamically generated Backrooms by Paul Gordon
  • Queer (LGBTQ+) Representation in Video Games by Jay Lam
  • Project Venari: A Cross-Engine Tech Demo by Jake Bayer
  • Designing Addicting Games by Katie M
  • Perfect is the Enemy of Fun by Chad Stewart

Lightning talks are a GREAT way to dip your toe into public speaking if you haven't done it before, or an excellent venue for a topic you love that might not make sense as a full-length talk.

Some topics that we'd love to hear about:

- A cool new tool or technique you used recently

- An introduction to a lesser known engine or tool

- A primer on your hyper specific game development related skillset

- What are you working on right now? Is it cool?
