Notes for All Events

  • We are a small office with a capacity limit. Please confirm your attendance on Discord for each event.
  • Exception: Paying coworking members, and anyone who paid for coworking on the day of an event, doesn't need to register and are guaranteed a spot at every event run by the space.

----------------------

About the Space:

  • This office is the central hub for the BGD community. Whether you're a game dev visiting Boston who wants to learn about the local industry, or a local dev looking for a place to meet up or get connected with the community, this is the spot.

Coworking

  • We run drop-in coworking out of our office every weekday, and we're open 24/7, 365 days a year, for paid coworking members.
  • Coworking membership requests are reviewed per application. This keeps the space a high-efficiency coworking environment with devs from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. Application criteria is re-evaluated on occasion. This does not affect event attendance: all events are open to everyone in the industry.

Events

  • The space also hosts small community events. No need to negotiate for event space, we've got it here and ready any time! Just reach out with your event idea and we'll get you approved and scheduled.
  • We regularly host smaller-scale industry events to help build connections and create a stronger industry.

Tools

  • We have a small but growing supply of shared dev tools on loan from local game studios. If there's a specific device you'd like to test on or build for, just ask. We might have one ready for you.

Finances

  • The office is fully community run and not-for-profit. All dues go into rent, utilities, and so on, and any remaining profits at the end of the tax year overflow into BGD.

Health of the space

  • We'd like to keep this office and community hub open and self-sustaining well into the future, but we haven't reached that goal yet. Some of our founders have generously offered to cover overflow costs for the first 12 months of operation, but we need a minimum flow of paid coworking passes to keep this space alive for years to come.
