Here’s the plan for the Shipping' Up To Boston Ukulele Cruise upon the Charles I riverboat.
Check in with Cruise Director John and his clipboard to be welcomed aboard.
Boarding will begin at 5:45pm.
DEPARTURE IS PROMPTLY AT 6pm.
No kidding around, it's a tightly run ship!
The Charles I waits for no one.
We’ll take 15 minutes or so to mingle and get settled. Set up will be several rows of seven chairs with an aisle in the center-ish. Feel free to bring your own snacks if you’d like. Cash bar for those who’d like a beverage, adult or otherwise.
Singing and strumming will then begin with a ‘round robin’ of song leaders.
Next we’ll break for about 15 minutes or so to “hit the head” (restrooms), more “grog” and more mingling. Back to singing and strumming!
Please bring a music stand for yourself, if you have one, and clips. It may be windy.
If parking in the CambridgeSide Mall Garage, don’t forget to get your parking ticket validated by a staff member near the dock.
Here’s the link to the event songbook for downloading to your tablet at home or to print out in advance. A few copies will be available for sharing. There is no wifi on the boat.

The Whole Nine Yards (Important information):
No refunds. Our musical excursion sets sail rain or shine. We’re not gonna let a little rain get in our way! What are we, landlubbers?
The Charles I is covered and has windows that can be raised in inclement weather. I have been assured that the Charles River never gets too choppy. Some tables will be set up as well as rows of chairs. Get there early if you'd like a table, but there will be plenty of seating for everyone. Please bring your music stands if you have them. Our "SHIPPIN' UP TO BOSTON!" songbook will be available for download closer to the event.
Departure:
The Charles I riverboat will begin boarding at 5:45pm and departs at promptly 6pm from the Lechmere Canal at the CambridgeSide Mall. This is directly outside the back entrance by the foodcourt. Returning at 8pm.
Drinks and Restrooms:
You may bring snacks for yourself, but please no 3 coarse meals unless you have enough for everyone. Savvy?
Cash bar will be open with water, soda and adult beverages, but no food will be available. Restrooms however will be available.
Parking:
The boat will be departing from the CambridgeSide Mall. For address, please use 100 CambridgeSide Place, Cambridge MA.
Once parked, take the elevator or escalator to the first floor of the mall. The boat is located just outside of the food court.
