InformAction Theory of Change and Witch Hunting in Africa
Details
Join us for a talk by Dr. Leo Igwe about the problem of Witch Hunting in Africa. This will be in meeting room A/B at the Longmont Public Library.
The persecution of alleged witches persists in sub–Saharan Africa. In December, police rescued a woman who was accused and was about to be buried alive in Malawi. Every year thousands of people mainly women, the elderly and children are attacked, banished and killed in many parts of the region. In 2020, Dr. Igwe founded the Advocacy for Alleged Witches to combat witch-hunting in Africa. The Advocacy for Alleged Witches uses the InformAction theory of change to address this issue, and aims to make witch hunting history in 2030. In this presentation, he will explain the InformAction theory of change and how advocates are using this mechanism to combat witch hunting in the region.
