CFOOTMAD presents community contra dances on the first and third Fridays in the main ballroom at the Avalon. Our dances are open to everyone; dancers are welcome to dance their preferred follower or leader role. No partner is required; it is customary for dancers to change partners for each dance. There is a short walk-through before each dance begins. If this is your first contra dance, it is very helpful to attend the 30-minute lesson just beforehand.

Lesson: 7:00 (free with admission to the dance)

Regular Dance: 7:30 to 10:30

Cost: $12.00 for CFOOTMAD members, $15.00 for non-members, $10.00 for students, free for those 12 and under

CFOOTMAD hosts Zesty contra dances on second Saturdays in the Tango Studio at the Avalon. Our dances are open to everyone; dancers are welcome to dance their preferred roles. No partner is required; it is customary for dancers to change partners for each dance. There is a short walk-through before most dances. The Zesty is for those who have been to a few contra dances and are familiar with the basic moves. There is no pre-dance lesson. For more information, visit our website, www.cfootmad.org.

$12.00 for members; $15.00 for non-members, $10 for students.

Join us for a lovely evening of dancing to great tunes old and new. DJs play favorites and introduce you to some new tunes as well. Come enjoy a wide variety of dance music including waltzes, one-steps, swings, foxtrots, Latin and more. Everyone is welcome! No experience or partner necessary. Two lessons at 6:30. Dancing from 7:30-9:30. Bring your friends and make new ones as we dance the night away.

Join us every 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesdays of the month for an evening of social dancing at the Avalon Ballroom. No partner necessary. We welcome dancers of all levels. Our Dance Ambassadors are here to help you get dancing! Come join us to dance, to socialize, and enjoy each other’s company. Hope to see you there!
