It is a place to post dance events, mainly in the Boulder, CO area, in order to connect dancers with dance events. Styles include Salsa, Folk, Swing (both coasts), Waltz, Tango, and International. All skill levels are welcome unless stated otherwise.

Swing Dance to Bianca and the Flyboys
The Avalon Ballroom, 6185 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder, CO, US**This will be an unhosted event** Join us for a swing dance to live music by Bianca and the Flyboys at the Avalon Ballroom! This group, featuring Bianca on vocals, plays Big Band and gypsy jazz music. They are a local fan favorite and have performed at the 1940s White Christmas Ball, Little Man Ice Cream, Denver Roxy’s Speak Easy, and other events. You don’t want to miss this fun evening of music and dancing!! Also, free covered parking and EV chargers available.
- Dance Lessons from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Beginner Swing with Becky (no previous experience needed)
- Intermediate Swing with Joseph - Music plays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Pay at the door: $20, $10 for students with valid ID, includes lesson and the dance; payment by credit card, cash, Venmo, or check
- Light snacks will be available, welcome to BYOB
NOTE:
- Please wear smooth-soled and clean non-marking shoes to protect the beautiful oak dance floor and for ease of turning.
- Dress for comfort and to show your style -- some wear casual, some dress up and some wear retro.
- Come alone or with friends. If you don’t want to dance, you can come and listen to the great music. Everyone is welcome!
Many people attend the 3rd Saturday Avalon Swing dances. Everyone is friendly, so please don’t be shy about introducing yourself! New dancers are encouraged to ask others to dance.

The Avalon Ballroom has been voted for many years as "Best Place to Dance" in Boulder County in the Boulder Weekly Annual Reader's Poll! Plenty of covered on-site free parking, EV chargers and a coat room too!
The dance community is saddened by the December 2022 passing of Jim Borzym. Jim was the founder of American Vernacular Dance; a dance instructor; and organizer and sponsor of the monthly Avalon Saturday swing dances, Wednesday waltz dances, Sunday tea dances, and more. The dances are continuing and Jim’s legacy is living on with the support from our wonderful dance community!
