Workshop: Blender for Generative Audio Visuals
Details
September B.E.A.T. Workshop (yes it's free!)
This month Spencer Arrasmith is leading a hands-on workshop on procedural generation in Blender (a free, open-source program for 2D/3D modeling) - using a mix of visual and text based programming to create generative visuals driven by audio.
Beginner-friendly.
No experience needed.
What to bring:
- Laptop with Blender 5.0+ installed (current version is 5.2)
- Mouse (if available)
- Maybe Earbuds/headphones
We'll start with a crash course on navigating Blender, then dig into modifiers, geometry nodes, and the Python API; with the goal of building something musical like a visualizer.
6:00 hang and setup, workshop starts around 6:30.
Expand your creative toolkit! Do cool stuff!
Junkyard has coffee, tea, beer, wine, kombucha, and food.
B.E.A.T. aims to foster, promote, and share Experiments in Art and Technology!
