November Meetup - JavaScript on JavaScript
Hosted by Boulder JS
Details
Jim Baker - JavaScript on JavaScript
We will walk though how to implement an interesting programming language – a subset of JavaScript – on JavaScript itself. We will look at how you can parse JS into a convenient form for processing; implement evaluation semantics; and ensure you get it right by using unit tests with test driven development. We are going to write a toy for sure, but by the end, you will better understand what JS does. You can also use these same ideas if you want to understand how alternative JS implementations and tooling like Caja, CoffeeScript, or Flow work; or maybe contemplate writing your own.
Jayson Jacobs will be giving a lightening talk as well. It's going to be a fun night!
