A flat tire can be the end of a nice bike ride.

Many of the skills required to fix a flat on the road are the same as the mountain. However, many of you are riding tubeless tires in the mountains. We will go over the skill of fixing a tubeless tire. And if all else fails, putting a tube into your wheel/tire.

What we’ll go over:

  • How to quickly remove your wheel on the trail. (Front and rear, and go over how to navigate the potentially cumbersome disc brake caliper.)
  • Checking your tire, tube, and rim for causes of the flat.
  • How to seal a small hole with a tubeless plug or "bacon strip."
  • Proper inflation for mountain terrain.
  • What tools and spares you should always carry.
  • Tips for avoiding repeat flats on rocky, rooty, or loose trails.

This session is hands-on and beginner-friendly. Please bring YOUR BIKE. You will learn this if you are practicing on YOUR WHEEL.
