This is the Meetup group of the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance (BMA). We have 3 group rides every week for riders of all levels. Rides are open to everyone (members and non-members). Find out more about BMA.
About BMA The mission of BMA is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in the greater Boulder Colorado area by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. Join BMA today to support our efforts!
This group hosts weekly group mountain bike rides for those who want to explore the MTB trails around Boulder with others at their level. The rides are meant to be fun for all, so those intimidated by more advanced riders, fear not. If you need to get off your bike and walk it up a steep or tricky section, it's OK! We try to keep a pace that works for the whole group. All our rides have a Ride Guide, and many also have a sweep and are "no-drop" rides.
Our weekly rides:
🟢 - These casual-paced rides have little elevation gain, few technical features, no exposure and are appropriate for beginners
🔵 - Our intermediate rides are moderately paced, have 700’-1200′ of elevation gain and some exposure
⚫ - Advanced rides not only climb lots of elevation, but also have very steep pitches with technical features thrown in.
⚫⚫ - Double black rides are on trails that even a strong intermediate rider may have trouble with. Steep climbs, big drops, rolling over boulders, and jumps! Considerable risk of OTB (over the bars) and injury.

Want to get involved? We are an all volunteer organization and are always looking for enthusiastic people to lead rides, volunteer at events, help with admin, participate on a committee etc.
Some of the trails we frequently ride around Boulder: Betasso, Marshal Mesa, Dowdy Draw, Heil Ranch, Walker Ranch, and Magnolia.
Please arrive a few minutes before the posted time of the ride. If it says the ride is at 6pm, then that's when we start peddling. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!

Join the fun on mountain bikes! These Knobby Wednesday entry-level rides for beginner riders will give you a chance to practice your skills, have fun, and be safe riding trails. This is a family-friendly ride with two Ride Guides so nobody will get left behind.IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE RIDE
- Riders must sign a liability waiver once during the season. By signing up for this ride, you agree to our Waiver
- All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike.
- ⚡ e-Bikes are permitted on this ride for folks experiencing mobility disabilities.
- All riders ride at their own risk, group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.
- This is a no-drop ride.
- Riders should also carry basic tools: a spare tube in your correct tire size, a pump, tire lever, a chain tool and basic Allen wrenches. Snacks are recommended.
- Rides launch on time. Please arrive at 5:45, rides will roll at 6.
- If the weather is iffy make sure to check this page a few hours before the ride for updated info. If you signed up for the ride you should also receive an email in the event of a cancellation. If necessary, we will cancel the ride by 4 p.m.
- For permitting and planning purposes, you must sign up on Meetup if you plan to join us.

- Trails & Ale 🔵/⚫Nederland Middle-Senior High School, Nederland, CO
🔵/⚫ This week we'll ride trails in West Magnolia. Trails range from fast and flowy to steep and rocky/rooty. With many different looping options, it's a great area to get a guided ride if you haven't been before.

Technical Difficulty: 7/10ABOUT TRAILS & ALE
This intermediate/advanced level ride is a great mid-week tonic. Ride at your own pace and we’ll regroup at intersections. Explore trails that are new to you and find a new riding buddy or two. We'll plan to tailgate together at the end of the ride or go to a restaurant, see comments for picnicking details.IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE RIDE

🔵/⚫ Ladies, come ride with pro downhiller Kelsey and the Flow Riders Race Team for a women-only day at Trestle Bike Park!
This event is designed for intermediate and advanced riders who want to explore the downhill park, learn more about the team, or just find a rad crew of women to ride with. 🟢 Heil Valley Ranch has something for everyone. The Overland and Schoolhouse loops are relatively smooth and flowy while Wapiti, Ponderosa and Wild Turkey add a steeper and rockier challenge. We'll split into 2 group so everyone is riding the terrain they are comfortable on!
