“Fifteen years ago, I was lying in a hospital bed in Missoula, Montana. I had given up on life. Stress and a severe bout of Crohn’s disease had left me with nothing to live for. After two weeks of the best Western medicine, nothing was helping. My body was shutting down.
In that moment I was in full acceptance but I prayed one last time: If there is a purpose for me in this life then show me now.
Then everything went black. A lucid, dreamlike vision appeared, powerfully calling me into my purpose in this life. A deep breath of life came into my body. Soon, the major symptoms disappeared and I was released from the hospital. The following three years were challenging, but as the vision foretold, I met the indigenous shamans and elders who would become my teachers, guiding me to realign and walk in a new way in life to help others.
Why share this? Because there is a message: no matter how dark life seems, there is always a way through. It's often when we have no options left that we finally look within and become free. Even when medicine could do nothing, once my purpose was awakened, my body began to heal. The awakened energy was now stronger than any fear, stronger than the illness.
Today, many of us feel trapped in survival mode—stressed, uncertain, waiting for life to provide what we need. But true transformation begins when you ignite your purpose and rise to the challenges of life. Living your purpose doesn’t erase challenges—it transforms them into fuel for your fire. It reignites passion, reconnects you to your Soul, and helps you fall in love with yourself and with life.
