"In the World but Not of It" by Gina Lake (1st of 2 Meetings)

On the first Saturday of each month, we will discuss the first half of the book. On the third Saturday of each month, we will have finished the book and discuss the whole thing. Newcomers are welcome to join at any time. The discussion is casual. This will be the first meeting for the book "In the World but Not of It" by Gina Lake. Please read the first half of the book. As people who came to the first meeting know, I write down a question every night before bed to be answered in one or more dreams. Recently, I wrote the question, "What should the third book be for the book club?" Honestly, I wasn't going to pick a Gina Lake book for the first year of the book club even though she's one of my three favorite spiritual teachers. The reason is that I thought it would be too extreme for beginners. First of all, her work is channeled. Second, and more extreme, she says she's channeling Jesus. Also, I was leaning toward a book called "On the Road to Freedom: A Pilgrimage in India, Volume 1" by Swami Paramatmananda. I woke up from the first dream in the middle of the night, thinking, "Hmm, that dream seemed to suggest 'In the World but Not of It' by Gina Lake. Let me do another question." I wrote "Who is the author?" and went back to sleep. I had two dreams that strongly suggested Gina Lake. So there you go. Let's dive straight into the deep end! I haven't read this book yet, though, I've read 8 or so of her other books and attended one of her weekend retreats in Colorado Springs before the pandemic.

Gina Lake has been a channel since 1986 and a nondual* spiritual teacher since 1999, after having a spiritual awakening. (*Nondualism is like a modern version of Advaita Hinduism. "Advaita" means "not two" and refers to the One Consciousness in everything.) Gina Lake is also the author of over 25 books. She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and over thirty years’ experience supporting people in their spiritual growth.
After a further spiritual deepening in 2012, Mother Mary, Jesus, and a circle of Ascended Masters made contact with her, and Jesus began dictating books through her.
