What we’re about
A group for safety-oriented rock climbers of all skill levels in and around the Boulder area.
At some point during each outing Aaron will prepare and serve tea.
For the sake of this meetup, which is meant to be informal and fun, skill level is not terribly important, though some outdoor climbing experience is preferred. Safety is critical, however, and participants are expected to either (1) understand proper safety precautions and belaying techniques or (2) ask for help and guidance.
Before attending, please watch the following videos or already be familiar with the topics they cover:
Proper Use of GriGri Belay Device - Petzl
Analysis of GriGri Belay Device - Hard is Easy
Proper Top Rope Belay Technique - Hard is Easy
Proper Lead Belay Technique - Hard is Easy

- Rock Climbing and Tea Social in Boulder CanyonBoulder County Justice Center, Boulder, CO
We will meet in the parking lot of the Boulder County Justice Center at 9 AM and drive into the canyon together at 9:15 AM.
At some point during the outing Aaron will prepare and serve tea.
Once you have arrived at the parking lot and parked your car, please look for Aaron, who is 6'5'' tall and will be organizing gear behind his gray Subaru Crosstrek as close to the entrance of the parking lot as possible.
Because parking in Boulder Canyon is limited, attendees are encouraged to carpool. We'll determine if anyone may need to leave early and organize drivers accordingly.
Please bring all personal climbing gear, including harness, shoes, and semi-automatic belay device (if you have one). ATCs are discouraged given that attendees may be climbing together for the first time and will likely want to build a level of trust first. Though by no means necessary, please let Aaron know if you have any shared climbing gear in proper working condition that you would be willing to share, including rope, quick-draws, etc.
