Sunday Meditation & Community
Boulder Shambhala Center, 1345 Spruce St, Boulder, CO, USMeditation is a process of bringing our consciousness into the present moment. The repetition of bringing our awareness back again and again is a process of becoming familiar with our own mind. Eventually this intimate familiarity of our thoughts and emotions opens a space that is always present. Compassion, discernment, communication, and gentleness all arise from meditation practice. By recognizing our thoughts as they come and go we increase our capacity to hold a greater level of uncertainty.
We begin with (optional) opening chants followed by alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation until noon. You can quietly come and go at any time, it is not necessary to attend the entire morning. Sunday morning meditation is a time to deepen our practice.
Any quiet sitting meditation practice of any tradition is welcome, or just come and sit quietly in this sacred environment with others.
Please join us on Sunday morning at the Boulder Shambhala Center, 1345 Spruce Street.
FREE - Donation are always appreciated!

Shambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human with Jon Barbieri
Boulder Shambhala Center, 1345 Spruce St, Boulder, CO, USShambhala Training Level I: The Art of Being Human
Through the practice of meditation, we begin to glimpse that goodness—rather than confusion—that is the unconditional ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.
Shambhala Training is a sequence of programs suitable for anyone interested in exploring meditation as a means to develop fearlessness, confidence, openness, and gentleness toward ourselves and our world. Collectively Levels I-V of Shambhala Training is called the Heart of Warriorship and offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society. The sanity of meditation can influence our daily life, and can even expand to impact our community and the whole of society.
Shambhala Training weekends involve the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship—a path of nonaggression born from the willingness to meet our world without bias or judgment. This path shows how to take the challenges of everyday life as opportunities for contemplative practice and learning. Every weekend level includes meditation instruction, periods of meditation practice, one-on-one meetings to clarify questions, talks by senior teachers, group discussions and a concluding reception.
Level I has no prerequisites andis open to everyone.
