Join us for a nourishing Buddhist meditation retreat from December 27 to January 2, led by longtime senior teachers Roland Cohen and Lynele Jones. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to deepen your practice, supported by rich environment of traditional Buddhist teachings, forms and experienced guidance.
Each day will include periods of sitting and walking meditation and Dharma talks (except for days of silence). The retreat is designed to help participants cultivate mindfulness, awareness, clarity and compassion, welcoming the new year with vast and profound intention.
SCHEDULE: Each Day is 8:30am to 5:30pm with lunch from 12pm to 1:30pm
Lunch & Tea: Each day we'll eat a contemplative lunch together in the shrine room (bring food from home). There will be a contemplative tea break in the afternoons.
ATTENDANCE: While we encourage participents to stay the whole week, partial participation is welcome for those able to commit to a minimum of two consecutive days.
This retreat is in-person only, allowing us to fully engage in the shared journey of the retreat.

More about the practice: This program is one week of a dathun (month long meditation retreat) as taught by Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche (meditation master of the Kagyu and Nynigma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism). The main practice will be Shamatha/Vipashyana (mindfulness/awareness) sitting meditation practice, accompanied by walking meditation and loving kindness practice. The 5 precepts will be offered for those who wish to practice them during the retreat.
