Sunday Meditation & Community
Details
Meditation is a process of bringing our consciousness into the present moment. The repetition of bringing our awareness back again and again is a process of becoming familiar with our own mind. Eventually this intimate familiarity of our thoughts and emotions opens a space that is always present. Compassion, discernment, communication, and gentleness all arise from meditation practice. By recognizing our thoughts as they come and go we increase our capacity to hold a greater level of uncertainty.
We begin with (optional) opening chants followed by alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation until noon. You can quietly come and go at any time, it is not necessary to attend the entire morning. Sunday morning meditation is a time to deepen our practice.
Any quiet sitting meditation practice of any tradition is welcome, or just come and sit quietly in this sacred environment with others.
Please join us on Sunday morning at the Boulder Shambhala Center, 1345 Spruce Street.
FREE - Donation are always appreciated!
