What we’re about

It is hard to be patient this time of year. We need a good snowpack to avoid submerged rocks and trees, and we are almost there. The next significant storm is expected Jan 3rd, so I've scheduled our first event on Sunday, Jan 7th. We'll meet every following Sunday as well, following the best snow.

We will stay in avalanche-safe areas with 27 degrees or less slope angles and pay attention to the region's surrounding terrain and avalanche forecasts.  Avi gear is required, nonetheless. Beginners are welcome and we will do some beacon drills to refresh our skills.

We'll go anywhere from Hidden Valley in RMNP to Hippi Trees on the East side of Vail Pass, Henderson Mine, Mt. Saint Vrain, Coon Hill, Rollins Pass, St. Mary's Glacier and James Peak, Quandary Peak - so many places. Please suggest an area you would like to explore, and we will plan it! I'll schedule the location a week in advance, but if it snows, we will adjust to find the best powder and first tracks.
