Loop from Doudy Draw
Details
This Saturday we’ll meet at the Doudy Draw trailhead in Boulder at 8:00a and run one of our classic loops.
ROUTE
The route will include Doudy Draw, Spring Brook, Goshawk, Fowler, Old Mesa, Shadow Canyon North, Upper Big Bluestem, and Mesa. We’ll get around 11 miles and 2200 ft of gain.
For a shorter option you can skip Shadow Canyon North and Upper Big Bluestem and head down on Shadow Canyon South Spur for a total of 9.5 miles.
There are also plenty of opportunities to add on.
LOCATION
To get to the trailhead, head south out of Boulder on Hwy 93. Turn right (west) on Eldorado Springs Drive and go about 2 miles. The trailhead will be on the left (south side of road).
The trailhead can be busy, so arriving early would be advised. For vehicles not registered in Boulder County, you'll need to pay for parking ($5), or park at the park-n-ride at Hwy 93 and Marshall Drive and coordinate a carpool at 7:45a. Please comment below if you need a ride.
CONSIDERATIONS
Dogs are allowed, except for Goshawk, so you’ll need to take the service road after Spring Brook and meet us at Fowler (it’s roughly the same distance, just not single-track).
