Fowler Trail to Eldorado Canyon SP Visitor Center - 4.4 miles and 375 ft EG

Details

This very scenic out and back trail leads us from the Fowler trailhead on County road 67 into Eldorado Canyon State Park with its spectacular canyon walls and rock formations. The trail has little elevation gain but some rocky and exposed sections. We will take a break at the picnic tables along South Boulder Creek, so bring a snack.

Eldorado Canyon State Park requires an entrance fee of $4 per person if you enter on foot. There is no official pay station or gate along the Fowler trail but rangers could ask for proof of payment anytime. If you have paid for the Keep Colorado Wild Pass (KCWP) with your vehicle registration, simply bring the registration card that has the Colorado Parks and Wildlife logo on your hike. (It's the one that does not have your address printed on it.) You can also download the My Colorado Parks and Wildlife App on your phone and link the pass to your new or existing account. The pass covers three additional guests, so we need only one pass holder for every 4 hikers.
KCWP Pass holders: Please mention in the comment section that you have the pass.

We will meet at 8:45 at the Marshall Mesa park n' ride and wait 5 minutes for late arrivals before carpooling to the trailhead.

By signing up for this hike you acknowledge that you participate at your own risk.
