Mitchell Lake and Blue Lake - 6 miles and 930 ft EG

This is a great hike up to Blue Lake with beautiful mountain scenery and opportunities to see flowers and wildlife, especially moose. Snow typically remains until early July, so please bring microspikes and/or poles just in case we need them.

The Brainard Lake recreation area is part of the Indian Peaks Wilderness, so group hikes are limited to 7 hikers. We will carpool from the Brainard Lake winter parking lot to the trailhead. We are leaving at 8:05 sharp, so please be on time. I hope to get a parking permit for the Mitchell Lake trailhead when the reservation window opens.

Please bring sun protection, water and a snack/lunch.
